Orr Tactical is a state-of-the art ammunition manufacturing facility located in Needville, TX.  We manufacture match-quality ammunition at exceptionally competitive prices.

 

Our Facility

Our facility is located about 20 minutes south-west of Houston, in Needville, TX.  We are a Class-07 weapons and ammunition manufacturer.  We maintain our own testing facility and use state-of-the art test equipment to ensure that our ammunition exceeds factory performance.  All of our equipment we use is manufactured in the USA.

Our Management

The company was founded and is operated by a retired Marine Colonel and a Mechanical Engineer, who have more than 50 years combined experience in competitive shooting, reloading, high volume manufacturing, and computer design and machining.


Alan Orr, a retired Marine Colonel, brings more than 30 years of experience in organizational management and ballistics knowledge to the Orr Tactical team. He graduated from the University of Michigan in 1986 and began his career in the Marine Corps as a field artillery officer. Alan served as a fire direction officer, platoon  

commander and later executive officer of an artillery battalion for five years as part of the 1st Marine Division in Camp Pendleton, Calif. During this time, he participated in unit deployments to Okinawa, and deployed as a battery executive officer for Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm.

After returning in 1991, Alan was selected as a gunnery instructor for the Corps’ Field Artillery Officer Basic Course. He was an instructor for two years before being selected to command a Marine artillery battery in Fort Sill, Okla. During his command, Alan also attended and graduated from Field Artillery Officer Advanced Course.

 

From 1994 to 1995, Alan attended and graduated from the Amphibious Warfare School before returning to the 1st Marine Division in California. During his three year tour, he commanded a battery and served as the battalion operations officer for 3rd Battalion, 11th Marines, and then was selected to be the fire support coordinator for the 7th Marine Regiment in 29 Palms, Calif.

 

After serving three years as the commanding officer of Marine Corps Recruiting Station in San Antonio, Texas, Alan reported to the Marine Corps Command and Staff College in Quantico, Va. In 2002, he graduated with honors, earning a Masters degree of Military Science. Alan was then selected to attend the School of Advanced Warfighting. While attending, he was chosen as the operational planner for the 1st Marine Division, and deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Alan returned from Iraq and graduated from the school in 2003.

 

His next assignment was as the logistics officer of the 11th Marine Regiment in California. In 2004, Alan assumed command of 1st Battalion, 11th Marines, which he led until 2006. After this command, Alan became a student once again, attending the Army War College in Carlisle, Pa. He earned his Master’s Degree in National Security Strategy in 2007, then became the future operations officer of the III Marine Expeditionary Force in Okinawa, Japan.

 

In 2009, Alan assumed command of the 14th Marine Regiment in Fort Worth, Tx., and served as the Regimental Commander until 2011.  His final assignment before retirement was as a faculty member of the U.S. Army War College in Carlisle, Pa.

 

Alan retired in June of 2015, ending a 30-year career as an active-duty Marine, ballistics expert and organizational leader. His skill and passion earned him three Legions of Merit, Four Meritorious Service Medals, and two Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals.
